For traveling the world (internationally) today, we all need to hold a physical passport. Do you think digital passports will become an accepted form of travel document in the future?

Yes, digital travel documents will be accepted in the future
No, we will always be needing a physical travel document
Having a digital passport doesnβt mean it canβt be physical.
There are many National IDs that already contain a digital certificate (with the highlight case of Estonia, where 99% of the population have digital certificates, and they use them every day to sign and interact with the government and other institutions using multiple devices (computer, phone and physical card).
I believe that passports should be physical with a digital certificate inside, similar to the national identification cards mentioned before, to enhance usability and accessibility in any scenario (no battery, no phone, etc.). But the issuer has to assure, also, that you can also add it on other physical device you own (like a phone, for example).
